Southwest’s Michelle Williams joins Air Cargo Tech Summit 2023
Summit takes place in Brussels on Sept. 18-19
The Air Cargo Next editorial team is pleased to announce that Michelle Williams, managing director of strategy and business services at Southwest Airlines Cargo and Charters, will join a panel discussion on air cargo operating systems at the Air Cargo Tech Summit 2023 taking place Sept. 18-19 in Brussels.
The session, “Air cargo operating systems: Digital booking platforms, capacity management and beyond,” will begin at 1:30 p.m. local time on Monday, Sept. 18.

The panel will discuss expanding routes and revenue networks in digital booking, the role of digital booking platforms in expanding services and automated payment systems, as well as the technology to maintain data integrity across the air logistics ecosystem.
“Our industry has seen great momentum and innovation within the digital space,” Williams told Air Cargo Next regarding Southwest’s recent innovations. “Over the past several years, we have made investments into our customer digital experience through the launch of our online booking site and real-time status tracking.”
Williams joined Southwest Airlines in 2014 as the lead in business transformation and product solutions. Prior to that, she was a product manager at Sabre Airline Solutions, a software and technology company in the global travel industry.
“We’re intent on designing products and services our customers want from Southwest Cargo that will make it easier to book and ship with us,” Williams said. “We’re focused on meeting our customers where they are and bringing new tools to the marketplace that will improve on our already established foundation of serving our customers with the heart and hospitality that Southwest is known for around the world.”
Air Cargo Tech Summit 2023 will provide two days of discussions, panel conversations and networking events with experts in the airfreight industry. Topics to be addressed include digital booking, innovations in ground handling and warehousing, digital records, drones and more.
