Matthew George is the CEO of Merlin Labs, an aerospace startup co-located in Boston, Los Angeles, and New Zealand. Merlin is the leading developer of autonomous flight technology for fixed-wing aircraft. Backed by a number of institutional venture capital firms including Google Ventures, First Round, Snowpoint, and Baillie Gifford, Merlin recently raised $105m Series B and also has a partnership with the United States Air Force to bring autonomy to the service’s C-130J.  Before Merlin, Matt was the CEO of two venture backed startups. Outside of startups, Matt has served in a number of community roles including being the technology chair for Boston’s 2024 Olympic bid. Matt has a B.A. in Biology from Middlebury College, and lives in Boston with his wife Dana, their son Finn, and their dog Madeleine.
